Who We Work For

The Kentucky Beef Network team works with beef cattle farmers to help them improve their animal health, genetics, forages, and marketing opportunities to essentially enhance producer profitability. Kentucky has the largest inventory of beef cows, east of the Mississippi River. At 1.023 million head of cows that have calved as of January 2011, Kentucky ranks 8th among the United States.

Most of the cattle in our state reside in the central and western regions. The map below demonstrates the distribution of Kentucky's beef cows.

Getting Out of the Gate with Social Media

Welcome to the KBN blog! We hope to use this site to promote our programs and share the stories of Kentucky farmers who utilize them. Some say the hardest part to any important journey is getting started, so we ask that you bear with us while we overcome the social media learning curve. Plans for upcoming posts include: an introduction of KBN, meeting the staff, overviews of KBN programs, and feature stories. We are out the gate and entering the social media race; stay aboard!
